GOOD THINGS TO EAT

Yesterday marked our very first CSA pick-up. We're sharing the produce with another family in our neighborhood, which I think will work out really well. Denison Farms was selected because they offer Tuesday afternoon pick-ups which means we will still have a reason (like we really needed one) to go to the farmer's market on Saturdays.

In the box this week:

carrots
lettuce
spinach
spring onion
potatoes
strawberries

Apparently there were also beets which I like and Jeff does not. The guys handled the splitting up of the produce and decided the other family would get all the beets and we'd get all the spinach. That's fine. So while Jeff's out of town for the next few days Calder and I will have to stock up and eat up those lovely red roots.

Monday night we ate the cover of the April issue of Gourmet magazine. Delicious! Pasta with Spicy Anchovy Sauce and Dill Bread Crumbs. The recipe has since been shared with two other local households (with children.) I'm going to have to find out how it went over. Everyone in this family loved it!
