Family Camp :: II

Day two at Hancock...

Perfect weather...

Pictograph Hike (the real Hancock Man!, though He's probably a She, now that I look at it from the perspective of a mother.  You can see the full image in the first photo from
Day 1.)...

Red-tailed hawk's nest under the overhang, (they were screaming at our group as we passed by)...

Little squirrels in the back of the van...

Playing ball in camp (any chance they could get)...

Piano too...

Aboriginal skills...

And just digging in the dirt in the shade of a juniper wearing the flint knapping safety goggles.  (Also, at this time, I was hunting scorpions, which you do by turning over rocks.  Pretty basic.  I found one.)...

Drawing and perusing the wide selection of field guides in the library...

KP duty...

Face-to-face with Mariah, the resident Great-horned owl...

Playing on the campfire bleachers...

Coyote, my cabin from the summer of '91.  (Flashback!)  I love these cabins so much.  Super basic A-frames with room for 12 with 6 built-in bunks on either side.  Doors in front and back.  Concrete floors, a bare bulb, and a wall heater.  That's pretty much it.  The perfect place to write in your journal... or nap.
