Please send good thoughts

Calder and Gramma C on the McKenzie River last summer

Jeff's mom, Carolyn, was hit by an SUV yesterday afternoon while riding her bike to work here in Corvallis. When the car finally stopped the rear tire was on her abdomen. She was rescued and taken to the hospital here in town.

Carolyn suffered a number of extreme injuries, (vertebrae and ribs are broken and multiple organs injured,) but thankfully the doctors do not consider these life threatening. She should, however, expect a lot of rehabilitation time once she's released from the hospital where she will be at least a few more days.

There's an article in the local paper that you can read here.
(Her last name was spelled incorrectly. It's Latierra.)

My parents brought Jeff's car-free sister, Julie, down from Portland yesterday afternoon, so the immediate family has been taken care of.

Please keep Carolyn and our family in your thoughts as she begins her long road to recovery.

Oh my goodness, poor Gramma C! It's so good that she has so much loving family nearby, that will help her heal faster than anything. My thoughts are with you and her!
