While everyone else napped on Christmas Day, I made a batch of Molly's Triple-Layer Peppermint Bark.

The first layer... white chocolate and peppermint crumbles.

The second layer... bittersweet chocolate spiked with peppermint extract.

The final layer... more white chocolate and peppermint.

Alongside my mom's wedding cookies, and Jeff's mom's spritzers and snickerdoodles on the post-cheese fondue, Christmas Day cookie platter. Mmmmmm... with a little egg nog and some coffee... so good.

Simple and tasty, though heavier on the palette and tummy than a cookie. Moderation is the name of the game. However, I do find myself sneaking many a bite throughout the day. Thank goodness they keep so well!
