MORNING WALK
Calder and I went for a walk this morning while it was still foggy and not raining. Check out the puddle of drool pouring out of his beautiful smile. Is this boy teething or what!? The hoodie he's wearing was made by his Gramma C.
It looks like it was early in the morning, but we were actually out there around 10am. I love the look of these trees from a distance. They make a lovely horizon.
We live near a big park bordered by the Willamette River. It's a wonderful place for long walks and there are a few different trails. I really love the bark chip trails (vs. the paved one) but we don't have a trail-savvy stroller, so it's quite a bumpy ride for the boy. Though, it is a good way to get him to sleep. Today we took a short detour on the chip trail to photograph the winter flora.
It was a short detour because what I really wanted to see/show Calder was the river. The first accessible beach, where everyone goes to let their dogs swim, was empty so we spent some time down by the water listening to it rush over the rocks near the shore. There was a great worn tree stump on the beach pocked with holes where rocks had burrowed their way into the wood. Some of the rocks were still there, the tree having grown around them.
I love that we live so close to the park and the river.
Now I'm going to go see if I can pull off the soup shared by Amy over at Angry Chicken. I hope I bought all the things I need for the recipe!
