And we find ourselves under this tree again

Those chickens, man. They're cute as chicks and pretty as hens, but I don't know about the teenager stage.

So let's move on to something lovely and adorable...

Our neighbor has a wonderful Japanese Cherry tree that bursts into frilly pink bloom this time of year.

Lake, 10 months

Lake and I lingered beneath the poofy skirts of a million pink petals.

When they start to fall we'll all scoop hand-fulls and toss them at one another in celebratory blessing. A shower of petals, soft and plentiful, is a beautiful thing. We love doing this with another neighbor's faded roses too.

Even on a rainy Spring day we could shelter under the blossoms and take pictures. Something about it all felt very familiar.

Calder, 9 months.
