Solstice

I Heard A Bird Sing

I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December
A magical thing
And sweet to remember:
"We are nearer to Spring
Than we were in September,"
I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December.

We just returned with cold cheeks and noses from the annual neighborhood Solstice Walk. Lots of friends, lantern-light, and spirit to welcome back the light. The rain paused and the crescent moon and stars shone bright on this longest night.

Happy Solstice everyone!
